\nVPOptics 2014 have brought new standards to Visual and Physiological Optics Meetings. It was important to involve in the meeting world-class keynote speakers and outstanding researchers to form a truly international Scientific Committee Board where every continent was represented. Every submitted paper (up to 4 pages long) has undergone a rigorous peer review. The review process was tedious and our gratitude goes to the Scientific Committee Board who performed excellent work in a timely fashion. The rejection rate was below 1% but the review process had mainly an educational purpose to further improve the authors\u2019 submissions. VPOptics meetings are set to be also an educational platform where graduate students could rub shoulders with the world leaders in the field. All papers, irrespectively whether they were presented in the form of a talk, a poster, or the newly introduced form of Show & Tell, have been included in the Proceedings that have been published with an ISBN number.
\nVPOptics 2014 was not just about science but also a good networking atmosphere. Delegates had a chance to see a magic show by J\u0119drzej Bukowski, an acclaimed illusionist and guest of many television programs and the only magician in Poland with a PhD degree, who until recently was a lecturer at the Wroclaw University of Technology. A pleasant surprise for the delegates was the talk by Ivan Fiser, an ophthalmologist from Prague, which turned out to be … a great-great-grandson of Jan Purkyn\u00e9. His lecture about life and works of Jan Purkyn\u00e9 produced great excitement among the delegates, which is still felt in post-conference discussions on forums and e-mails.<\/p>\n

Od 2014 roku spotkania VPOptics b\u0119d\u0105 organizowane corocznie, na przemian w Europie i innych cz\u0119\u015bciach \u015bwiata. Drugie \u015awiatowe Spotkanie Optyki Wizualnej i Fizjologicznej ma zosta\u0107 zorganizowane w Puebla w Meksyku w sierpniu 2015 r. \u00d3sme Europejskie, zbiegaj\u0105ce si\u0119 z III \u015awiatowym Spotkaniem Optyki Wizualnej i Fizjologicznej, odb\u0119dzie si\u0119 w Antwerpii w Belgii w 2016 r., natomiast IV \u015awiatowe Spotkanie w dziedzinie optyki wizualnej i fizjologicznej odb\u0119dzie si\u0119 w Auckland w Nowej Zelandii w 2017 roku.
